Han Wenke, former director and researcher of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission and an academic member of the China Energy Modeling Forum, gave answers and suggestions on how the "leading" countries should deal with climate change. He pointed out that the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" includes the main content of promoting green development, low-carbon development, ecological environment protection, preventing desertification, vigorously developing clean energy, etc., which will greatly promote the implementation of the Paris Agreement and promote the active development of "Belt and Road" countries to fight climate change. At the same time, it is emphasized that when responding to climate change, countries should update and improve their response strategies in a timely manner, determine different response strategies and priorities according to national characteristics, and strengthen the construction of carbon markets.

Han Wenke is the former director and researcher of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission and an academic member of the China Energy Modeling Forum. He has successively served as director of the Institute of Energy Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences of the National Energy Commission, an expert of the National Energy Expert Advisory Committee, and a director of the China Economic and Social Council.
 
Over the years, he has actively participated in and developed major research projects, and his research fields involve energy databases, energy management information systems, energy supply, and demand forecast, energy development strategy and planning, western energy development and utilization, sustainable energy policy, oil and natural gas development strategy and international oil price, power system reform, energy-saving technology policy, etc. In recent years, he has successively served as the person in charge of more than 10 key projects of the committee and academy and important international and domestic cooperation projects, organizing and presiding over the research work.
