Gao Qingxian

esearcher Gao Qingxian from the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences shared his experience in coordinated control of greenhouse gases from four aspects: opportunities, reasons, measures, and ideas. From 2007 to 2018, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Environmental Protection successively issued policies to deal with climate change and pollution. In 2018, the functions of the Policy Development and Reform Commission to deal with climate change were incorporated into the Ministry of Ecology and Environment to coordinate the control of greenhouse gases and air pollutants. The development offers good opportunities. At the same time, combined with the examples of the thermal power industry and the cement industry, it reflects that coordinated control and emission reduction should be considered from the aspects of the energy system, industrial system, transportation field, and environmental economy to cope with climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including adjusting and optimizing the industrial structure, speeding up the adjustment of the energy structure, actively adjust the mode of transportation, etc.
