Overview

As domestic and international energy markets and the macroeconomic situation are facing challenges from multiple unstable factors, the orderly implementation of China's carbon emission reduction development path and voluntary emission commitments requires a continuously updated, more resilient and flexible strategic framework guidance. In this context, the China Energy Modeling Forum (CEMF) organized the 28th CEMF Forum on the theme of "Challenges and Opportunities for China's Medium and Long-term Carbon Emission Reduction in the New Situation" in Beijing on March 11, 2022 (Friday)Technical Seminar . The forum discussed issues such as the latest geo-security situation and the international environment of the new crown epidemic, "dual carbon" governance and development prospects in the "new normal" operation of China's economy, and the realization of sustainable development goals.

The impact of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, analyzed the coal production and transaction price fluctuations in the past year, discussed the development prospects of China's coal industry under the new situation and the impact of carbon emission reduction goals, and discussed the "two sessions" The impact of relevant documents on my country's energy transition under the new situation, the realization of dual carbon commitments, and participation in international climate governance.

The seminar hopes to focus on the research theme of the China Energy Modeling Forum (CEMF), integrate the new geopolitical and policy situations into the path and technical points of the energy model and its mid- and long-term scenario settings, and further improve the timeliness and accuracy of the energy model evaluation, and more Serve CEMF03's research purpose of "2035 Low Carbon Development and Beautiful China Goal".
